HISTORY

Selmar was born in 1962, from the idea of Girardi Gio Batta, founding member. Initially as a marble sawmill for then evolve with specialization in the processing of raw materials to get finished products of high quality, completing the production chain with the installation of products. Over the years it has gradually expanded the constantly increasing volume of business and strengthening its presence in the national and international markets. Through to the renewed confidence of customers, the owners have invested their resources and profits from year to year with the objective to make the company with a respectable size, capable of serving small, medium and large customer. To better meet customers' needs are undertaken and executed works of upgrading and mechanization of machinery and equipment incorporating some of the marble processing machines with computer control for producing highly qualified, but not forgetting the artistic work done by hand.

PRODUCTION CHAIN

The work process begins with the arrival in the company directly from the extractor groove of the block that is normally stored outside the laboratory. The main steps of processing are constituted by sawing with a diamond multiblade frame without the use of additives or specific abrasive; the operation of cutting of the marble block occurs by means of sliding of the blades on the marble in the constant presence of water to avoid imperfections.
This is followed by trimming the purpose of which is to obtain regular plates of a certain size; this operation is performed with water-cooled diamond disks. The individual sheets are made out, squared and divided into regular plates at right angles.
These semi-finished, with rough plan, are then processed on the floor and on the coasts to get the finished products that we mounted in houses, sides of buildings, the roadsides and as interior flooring.
